Our ADSL bandwidth offering caters for the Small and Medium business market, due to the different types of connectivity options, you are always welcome to speak to one of our consultants to assist with making the correct choice.

MyADSL Business: 

Capped MyADSL Business: A pre-agreed upon limit, you are allowed a set amount of bandwidth with which to work. Once this limit is reached you will no longer be able to access the internet.

The current Capped MyADSL Business service will always have a slightly better performance than the Uncapped MyADSL Openservice due to there being more people sharing the same bandwidth on the Uncapped service.

Shaped MyADSL Business

On a shaped ADSL account, priority is given to emails, web browsing, internet banking and "normal" downloads via a web browser or FTP program. This means that any other online activity not included here will receive low priority when the network is busy. This then entails that this option is the best one for most users who do not want to carry out some specialised online activities.

Unshaped MyADSL Business

Unshaped ADSL treats all protocols the same and offers the optimal internet access for Skype, VOIP and secure work from home options as well as VPNs. Unshaped is particularly important for peer-to-peer (P2P) applications and video streaming. 

Uncapped ADSL South Africa

The MyADSL®  Open packages are uncapped and provide you with the freedom of no limit ADSL and the connection speed is determined by the package type. 

When does it becomes feasible to move to an uncapped service?

• For a 384 kbps line speed if you move less than about 7 GBs a month it makes sense to stay on Capped.
• For a 512 kbps line speed if you move less than about 11 GBs a month it makes sense to stay on Capped.
• For a 4096 kbps line speed if you move less than about 18 GBs a month it makes sense to stay on Capped.

You will still require your Telkom ADSL line and your current ADSL Router.
